After the king put on the “new clothes”, he was ridiculed by the people. He was very angry and decided to pass the national security law to suppress the people. The people couldn’t bear it anymore and finally revolted. The male and female woodcutter in the woods in the north raised their axes, and the farmers of both sex in the south raised their sickle. Two huge columns of rebels, hoisting their rainbow colour flag, off and marched from the north and the south respectively to the palace. The king was terrified when he saw the rebels below the city wall. The Director of Security Deng PK stepped forward and said:
“Your Majesty, don’t worry, just tell the northerners that the southerners will take the axe from the northerners when they are resting. At the same time, we do the same trick on the southerners, then the two groups will fight each other. We sit just relax and fold our arms and watch the two tigers fight. After this we will massacre all of them on the 4th of June!”
The king succeeded with his evil plan. Although both sides had risen up again and again but they never joined hand again. So the king was able to continue to divide and rule hence continued to rule in peace and contentment for 33 years.
However, at the end of 2022 the northerners rose up again and history suddenly turned a new page. The demonstrators not only protested against the practices of locking people up in the name of the zero-Covid policy, some even stood up and gave speeches, expressing regret for being unable to see the king’s divide and rule strategy, and argued for a united front policy of people from all land.[1] On the other hand some of the southerners now argued for the same thing as well. “We can’t keep dividing among ourselves anymore!” they said. The king sent Deng PK to play the same trick by talking to both sides separately. According to the new Sequel of the story, released on 4th June, 2023,
“The northerners and the southerners did not believe Deng PK anymore. They decided to send representatives to talk to each other and finally agreed that they have more in common than they had thought, and that forming an alliance to drive out the king and Deng PK is the best way out!”
Borderless Movement
[1] During the Dec 2022 Blank Paper movement there were students in Mainland China repenting for being indifference to the tragically repressed Tibetan, Uighurs, and HongKongers. On the hand there were also a small amount of HongKongers came out in solidarity with the Blank Paper movement.
